February 17th or June 12th; House Defeats Bill

Wed, Jan 28, 2009

HD TV, Hardware, Other Hardware

Looks like TVs with analog are set again to go dark on February 17th. The House today defeated a bill to postpone the upcoming transition from analog to digital television to June 12th. So again, it looks like it will finally happen. After two years of commercials and media hype, we are set again for the original date. The Nielsen Co. estimates more than 6.5 million Americans rely on analog television. These 6.5 million Americans should be given a medal. I’m not sure how they survive on jus network television and Telemundos. So expect a line of old people at Best Buy today, either to get there converter box or Murder She Wrote on DVD.
